Introduction
Anchor Lodge is a small family run guest house with two double en-suite rooms. The house is newly built and whilst we aim to meet the needs of all our guests there are some narrow entrances that may not be suitable for wheelchair users.  Both rooms are located on the first floor and access to the main entrance is via a sloping driveway which is suitable for people with limited mobility.
Pre-Arrival
The nearest railway station is Dumpton Park drive, approximately 10-15mins walking distance from Anchor Lodge. Broadstairs and Ramsgate Stations are approximately 1 mile away. Taxis are usually available at the station but we can book one for you in advance if required.
The nearest bus stop is a 2 minute walk away. From here buses run regularly to Ramsgate, Margate and Canterbury and the surrounding area, we also have copies of the local timetables for guest use.
At this time we do not take pets.
You can contact us by telephone or e-mail. Please see the “Contact Information” section of this document for full details.
Arrival and Car Parking
We are a small family run Guest House and do not have a 24 hour reception service, for that reason our arrival times are from 4pm or other times by arrangement. On day of departure rooms are to be vacated by 10.00am.
There is unrestricted 24hr parking available on the wide, well lit road at the front of the house.
We offer assistance with luggage.
Access to the front door is via a sloping drive (1 in 6.5 gradient), suitable for people with limited mobility.
 Main Entrance
The front door is always closed therefore please ring the bell on your arrival, after which you will be given your own keys. The front door has a width of 32"(81cm).
Guest Accommodation – Public Areas
There is a step of 3inches (8cm) into the hallway with beige carpet on the floor throughout the house. The hallway is long and narrow with dimensions of 21ft 8"(6m 60cm) long, with a width of 39"(99cm) narrowing to 32"(81cm). Which leads to the two ground floor en-suite bedrooms (Please see section ‘Bedrooms’ for more information)?
The house is centrally heated throughout with a thermostat located in the hall.
 Lounge/Dining Room
There is a guest lounge available for use.
The lounge has one 3-seat sofa and an armchair, plus some straight back chairs around the dining table. This room has a large colour remote control television, a selection of books, magazines, a chess table and various games.
The lounge is carpeted and is centrally heated.
A selection of local information, maps, magazines and books is available in the lounge.
Breakfast is served at the dining room table between 8am and 9am each morning, with all food being local produce and freshly cooked.
The Lounge/Dining area has direct outdoor access, via glass sliding patio doors with a 3 ˝ inch (8cm) step to the large decked area. Guests are welcome to take drinks outside and sit at the wooden garden table overlooking a large well established garden with partial sea views.
Bedrooms
The two ground floor bedrooms are accessed via a 28" (71cm) wide door and are carpeted throughout. They have been tastefully decorated and finished to a high standard. Both rooms have a small en-suite bathroom.
Both rooms have double beds (4”x6”) with access to both sides of the bed. The rooms are bright and airy with large windows overlooking the front garden.  The fully tiled en-suite bathrooms both have a step in glass shower, toilet and basin.
All rooms have a remote control colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, mini fridge, towels, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, and soaps), a hairdryer, digital alarm, IPOD speakers.
Our beds are normally made with clean white sheets, woollen blankets and a decorative bedspread, with both feather and synthetic pillows. Extra blankets are available in the wardrobe for use during winter.
There is a built in wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets in each room; all rooms have mirrors and bedside lights.
There is a guest information folder in each bedroom which contains variety of further information. Additional details on the Lodge, the area and suggestions on where to eat are some of the issues covered. There are details on emergency contacts including the local hospitals.
Garden
There is secure storage in the garden that guests may use to store surfboards, wetsuits, bicycles, and outdoor walking boots and clothing.
